Eastman builds name in west Essex County.

Eastman Management Company has been responsible for the development and management of more than two million square feet of office and commercial space throughout the northeastern United States. Nowhere has the company been more prominent than in Essex County, where it maintains so many of the leading office facilities that the firm has earned the sobriquet as "The West Essex Connection" for superior corporate rental space.

The unique amenities at Regent Street Office Park on Route 10 are typical of those to be found in an Eastman property. This 160,000 square-foot complex is designed in a campus configuration of five dramatically contemporary one-story office buildings and offers several advantages seldom found in conventional corporate buildings. Tenants can enjoy an on-site cafe and relax in outdoor areas designed for lunching and strolling.

The large, 5,100 square-foot Peanut Shell Day Care Center is also a marvelous on-site service provided for the young children of employees and executives. Currently, 9,000 square feet of luxuriously finished space are available for immediate occupancy, and can be expanded to 19,000 square feet.

On-site food services are also found at Eisenhower Plaza, another amenity typical of Eastman properties. Limited space is currently available.

Eisenhower Plaza South at 70 South Orange Avenue has also proven to be attractive to a number of New Jersey's law firms because of its prestige location and superior services, which include on-site shopping, dining and convention facilities. This 80,000 square foot building is sited on a magnificently landscaped campus-like setting and its pleasantly understated design provides an extremely productive work environment. it offers the largest single floor plan (41,000 square feet) in all of West Essex, yet a 60,000 square-foot use can be accommodated; the space could also be subdivided into smaller suites.

The facility includes a well-lit parking area, and public bus service is available just steps from the front door. Easy highway access to Newark, New York, Morristown, Route 24, Interstates 287 and 280, and the Garden State Parkway have made 70 South Orange Avenue a highly desirable location for a client list that includes law firms, corporate headquarters and professional.

Livingston's Presidential Center has been a magnet to firms attracted to its landmark design, state-of-the-art technology, spectacular office suites and lobby space. Located on Eisenhower Parkway, The Center has proven to be so popular that it is enjoying a high occupancy rate. Another office complex in Livingston at 651 West Mount Pleasant Avenue is also fully occupied.

Both Eastman Construction Co. and its affiliate, Eastman Management Co., are presided over by the team of Michael Schofel, who heads the construction and development activities, and Peter Schofel, president of the management division. The Schofel brothers have directed the Livingston-based Eastman Companies on a course that includes general contracting, land acquisition and development, and planning and construction of retail shopping centers. Eatstman's standing in the industry and its commitment to excellence were key factors in the company's being selected as the 1992 Developer of the Year by the New Jersey Chapter of the NAIOP (the Association of Commercial Real Estate).
