East Linn Christian knots Trico League.

Byline: The Register-Guard

LEBANON - Ryan Pugh scored 17 points as East Linn Christian (17-4, 12-1 Trico) defeated Monroe 57-54 to move into a first-place tie with Harrisburg in the Trico League boys basketball standings Saturday.

Third-place Monroe (16-5, 10-4) trailed 53-51 with 26 seconds left before the Eagles sank four free throws to go up by six.

Landon Schacht had 12 points for the Dragons, followed by Mike Caley with 11 and Nate Nystrom and Ben Wall with 10 apiece.

Waldport 63, Jefferson 40

WALDPORT - Brandt Thissell had 17 points, Paul Olenik added 12 points and Beau Biron grabbed 13 rebounds to lead the Irish over the Lions.

Kenny King scored 11 points for the Lions. Waldport outscored Jefferson 17-6 in the second quarter to take a 16-point halftime lead.

Crow 69, Oakridge 55

CROW - Buck McCay scored 19 points and Jesse Meeks had 17 points and five steals to lead the Cougars.

Kevin Slaughter added 13 points and eight rebounds for Crow, which built a 16-point halftime lead with a 20-9 second-quarter advantage. Josh Alvarado had 28 points for the Warriors.

Central Linn 67, Lowell 57

LOWELL - Andrew Kinder scored 21 points to pace the Cobras, followed by Peter Snyder with 14 and Cody Sell with 12.

Brandon Pritchard had 15 points, Michael Neet added 12 and Kirby Hamilton scored 11 for the Red Devils.

Mountain West League

McKenzie 97, OSD 30

BLUE RIVER - Garrett Cline had 21 points and eight rebounds and Cayle Baird scored 18 points, including four three-pointers, as the Eagles (15-3, 10-1 Mountain West) moved into a first-place tie with Mohawk.

Alejandro Dominguez scored 14 points for the Panthers.

Skyline League

Umpqua Valley Christian 58, Elkton 42

ROSEBURG - Jesse Masters had 19 points to lead the Monarchs, followed by Jeremy Chappel with 12 and Scott Goebel with 11.

Darryl Swearingen scored 14 points and Josh Lengstorf added 11 for the Elks.
