East Coast soldier killed.

Master Warrant officer Michel Phillipe Frechette (pictured below) was killed in a car crash on February 13th while deployed on a brigade exercise at Fort Pickett, Virginia. Frechette had spent 29 years in the Canadian navy--ten as a submariner before he transferred to the militia in 2006. A member of the West Nova Scotia Regiment, Frechette was also the chief cook for the Land Force Atlantic.

The accident occurred around 9:00 a.m. and Frechette was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of his death. At time of publication, Virginia State Police were still investigating the cause of the crash.
