EZCONY TO DEFEND CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT

MIAMI, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Ezcony Interamerica Inc. (NASDAQ: EZCOF) today announced that on Friday, Sept. 3, 1993, it was served as a defendant with the complaint in a class action lawsuit brought by one of its shareholders, Leonore Ballan.
The company's board of directors and the underwriting syndicate that participated in its initial public offering were also named as defendants in the suit, and most have been served.
Ballan alleges she is the shareholder of record of only 100 shares of Ezcony's common stock.
Because Ezcony was only recently served, it has not had an opportunity to fully investigate the allegations of the complaint. However, a preliminary review leads management to believe that the material allegations are without merit. Ezcony plans to vigorously assert all available defenses.
