 EXXON CHAIRMAN'S STATEMENT
 IRVING, Texas, June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Exxon's management and


employees are deeply distressed to learn of the tragic and senseless death of Sidney Reso, president of Exxon Company, International.
 Exxon's Chairman, Lawrence G. Rawl, expressed his deepest regrets. "My heart goes out to Pat Reso and the children at the loss of a wonderful husband and father and to the other members of his family. They will be in the thoughts and prayers of all Exxon employees during this terribly difficult time. Sid was one of the finest men I have known who combined outstanding professional competence with humanity and warmth. He made an invaluable contribution to Exxon during his 35 year career culminating in his leadership role in the success of Exxon Company, International. He was known and liked by Exxon employees all around the world. I know they will be as saddened as I am about his tragic death."
 Mr. Rawl expressed his appreciation to the many law enforcement personnel who have spent countless hours pursuing the criminals since Sid Reso was kidnapped.
