EXPRESS TEL REPORTS A 76 PERCENT INCREASE IN FIRST QUARTER NEW SALES
IRVINE, Calif., May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Express Tel long-distance company reports a 76 percent increase in first quarter new sales compared to first quarter 1991.
The company's sales have increased primarily because of advances in communication technology and Express Tel's discounted rates, said Rich Dunn, Express Tel general sales manager for southern California.
"These advances continue to allow regional long-distance companies like Express Tel to provide the same services as national long- distance companies," Dunn said. "And businesses are discovering tremendous savings through regional long-distance companies because we have lower rates."
Nationally, long-distance rates have decreased since the industry's divestiture in 1984, and leaner regional long-distance companies can offer similar products and services at much lower rates.
According to Dunn, Express Tel's average rate per minute has decreased 47 percent since 1984.
A low-cost alternative, Express Tel is a full-service long distance telephone company, with operators and a full range of discounted long-distance services for customers who communicate throughout the world.
