EXPRESS TEL LONG-DISTANCE GIVES FREE CALLS TO LOS ANGELES HOMELESS FOR THANKSGIVING

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Express Tel long-distance company and Union Station Foundation have joined together to give free long-distance calls to homeless people in Los Angeles for Thanksgiving.
Express Tel has arranged for several telephone lines to be brought into Union Station, 412 South Raymond, Pasadena, where people will sign up to make free calls the day before Thanksgiving on Wednesday, Nov. 24, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
"Thanksgiving is a time when many people need to make long-distance calls to loved ones," said Yvette Rebong of Express Tel. "We want to give this opportunity to those less fortunate who otherwise would not be able to call.
"If we can make Thanksgiving a little brighter for these people by putting them in touch with loved ones they haven't talked to in a long time, then we have met our goal."
"It's donations and gifts like Express Tel's that help make our operation work," said Frank Clark of the Union Station Foundation. "The generous voluntary efforts of businesses and community organizations are of tremendous support this time of year."
A low-cost alternative, Express Tel is a full-service, long-distance telephone company, providing a full range of discounted products and services for those who communicate throughout the world. Established in 1982, the company employs more than 200 people in offices throughout California, Nevada, and Utah.
