EXPRESS SERVICES CELEBRATES 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY AND ANNOUNCES NAME CHANGE

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla., March 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Express Services Temporary & Permanent Personnel is preparing to celebrate, said Robert A. Funk, president and chairman of the board.
The personnel franchisor, headquartered in Oklahoma City, is hosting its 10-year anniversary and international convention March 18-20 at the Marriott Hotel in Oklahoma City. The focus of the convention, "Decade of Excellence," is to update and inform its franchisees, celebrate the company's continued growth and announce the name change from Express Services Temporary & Permanent Personnel to Express Personnel Services.
"For the past 10 years, Express has grown tremendously," Funk said. "We have been broadening our scope to include some of the industry's newest staffing solutions; with that in mind, we chose 'Express Personnel Services' because it is succinct and all-inclusive.
"The convention theme, 'Decade of Excellence,' was chosen to relate our tremendous success with our consistent pursuit for excellence," Funk continued.
To add to the company's festivities," Gov. David Walters proclaimed March 14-20, 1993, Express Personnel Services' Week in Oklahoma. With 13 Oklahoma offices, Express is one of Oklahoma's largest employers providing both part-time and full-time jobs to 20,000 Oklahomans.
Funk owns and operates offices in Ada, Chickasha, Lawton, Muskogee, Norman, Piedmont, Ponca City, Pryor, Shawnee, Stillwater, Tulsa and two Oklahoma City locations.
"1992 was an incredible year for Express; we have much to celebrate," said Dave Gillogly, chief operating officer. "We ventured into the international arena when we acquired four offices in Sweden; we became the first American personnel firm to sign a Russian personnel company as a representative; we reached $1 billion in cumulative sales over the last decade; and in 1992 the company gained a sales increase of more than 30 percent. This convention and name change are the starting points of another boost at Express."
Featured speakers at the convention include Tom Hopkins, author of "How To Master the Art Of Selling;" Steve Lynn, chairman and CEO of Sonic Industries; Ann Magee-Cooper, author of "You Don't Have To Go Home From Work Exhausted;" and Peter Leffkowitz, who is the No. 1 sought- after speaker for permanent/executive level recruiting.
Headquartered in Oklahoma City, Express Personnel Services is a full-service personnel franchisor offering temporary help, permanent placement and executive recruiting.
Founded in 1983, Express ended its first year with 13 franchises and $2 million in revenues. Today, with more than 175 franchises worldwide, 1993 revenues are projected to reach $325 million, surpassing 1992 revenues of $250 million.
