EXPRESS BRINGS THE NEWEST INTERNATIONAL FASHIONS TO GARDEN CITY

NEW YORK, Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Express, the specialty retailer of chic international sportswear and accessories for women, opened its first store at New York's Roosevelt Field in Garden City today.
The 15,000-square-foot store has a spectacular selection of leading edge fashion. Express started in 1980 with its first store in Chicago at Water Tower Place and this month reached its 600th store mark.
The new store, filled with authentic French antiques, modern Philippe Starck furniture, Mannerist paintings, faux crystal chandeliers and nostalgic European music, brings "runway to reality" to fashion- savvy women.
According to Michael Weiss, president and chief executive officer at Express, "The designs you see in our store are what's currently being seen in Paris, Milan and London." He added, "We uncover current fashion trends as they happen and then provide our customers with chic designs at affordable prices."
Available at the Roosevelt Field store for holiday dressing is the exciting Express Holiday '91 collection featuring luxurious handknitted sweaters shot with lurex, multicolored beads and stones; body-hugging black lycra dresses adorned with black shimmering pailettes; ribbed tunics in over 40 exciting colors; sandwashed silk shirts and plush wool and cashmere blend blazers to add sophistication to any look.
The new Express store in Garden City also houses Structure, the men's store that features reinterpreted classic sportswear, and Bath & Body Works, a new line of natural ingredient personal care products for men and women.
