EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT RESIGNS FROM COMPUWARE, REMAINS ON BOARD

 FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich., Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Compuware Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: CPWR), a world leader in programming services and the sales of integrated systems software products which improve programmer productivity, today announced that Michael J. Lobsinger is stepping down as executive vice president to pursue personal interests. While relinquishing his day-to-day strategic planning responsibilities, Lobsinger will continue to be involved with the company advising on merger and acqisition issues. Lobsinger will also remain a member of the company's board of directors.

 Lobsinger joined Compuware in 1973 and has been instrumental in guiding the company's entry into the systems software market beginning in 1977. Lobsinger has served as a director of the company since December 1986, and as executive vice president since March 1988.
