EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT AND CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER OF ZIEGLER COMPANY, INC. RESIGNS

 WEST BEND, Wis., Nov. 24 ~PRNewswire~ -- Peter D. Ziegler, president and chief executive officer of The Ziegler Company, Inc. (AMEX: ZCO) a financial services firm, announced that effective today, William D. Gehl, 46, executive vice president and chief operating officer of the company, has resigned and will become president and chief executive officer of Gehl Company, a local publicly listed specialty farm and construction equipment manufacturer with both a national and international presence. Fiscal 1991 sales for Gehl Company were $143 million.
 Gehl has served in various legal capacities with Ziegler since joining the firm in 1978. After serving as senior vice president and general counsel for the company since 1985, he became executive vice president and chief operating officer in 1990 and remained in that capacity until today.
 Ziegler said, "Extenuating circumstances at Gehl Company, where Bill Gehl has served as director since 1987, provided him with an opportunity to serve as that company's new chief executive officer. He has served our company with distinction, and although we shall miss him, we wish Bill every success in accepting his new challenge."
 Ziegler added, "No successor to the title of executive vice president is contemplated in the near term and I will assume the chief operating officer responsibilities."
