 EXECUTIVE CHANGES AT MEAD
 DAYTON, Ohio, Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- J. Hans Stausboll has been


named chairman of Mead Pulp Sales, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Mead Corporation (NYSE: MEA). Formerly president of the group, Stausboll will serve as chairman until his retirement next year.
 Replacing Stausboll as president of Mead Pulp Sales is William D. Bloebaum, Jr., most recently treasurer of the corporation. William R. Graber, currently controller of Mead, has been named to fill Bloebaum's post as treasurer on the appointment of a new controller.
 Stausboll joined Mead Pulp Sales in 1971 as export sales manager and was promoted to vice president, export, in 1973. He was elected president of the subsidiary in 1986. He plans to retire in Jan. 1993 after a distinguished 43-year career in international business.
 Bloebaum joined Mead's electronic publishing subsidiary, Mead Data Central, Inc., in 1984, where he held a number of senior management positions in strategy, marketing and finance. He was elected corporate treasurer and an officer of Mead in 1988.
 Before joining Mead, Bloebaum held senior management positions in international finance and treasury with AccuRay Corporation in Brussels, Belgium, and Columbus, Ohio. While at AccuRay, he also spent four years in technical sales and marketing. Prior to that time, Bloebaum was employed by Chevron Chemical Company and the Cosmodyne Corporation in sales and sales management.
 Bloebaum received his B.S. degree in chemical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1962 and an M.B.A. degree from Stanford University in 1964.
 Graber, who will replace Bloebaum as treasurer later this year, joined Mead as corporate controller in April 1991. Prior to that time, he had a long career in financial management with the General Electric Company. His experience there included financial management positions at corporate headquarters and a number of major GE businesses, including Major Appliances, Motors, Consumer Electronics and Aircraft Engines.
 Originally from Selah, Wash., Graber graduated from Washington State University with a bachelors degree in mathematics in 1965.
 Mead Corporation, headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, is a leader in forest products and electronic publishing.
