EVERGREEN PARTNERSHIP SAYS BUILDER OF SUPER HOUSE TO BE HONORED AT LUNCHEON

TACOMA, Wash., Nov. 30 ~PRNewswire~ -- Thomas Ossinger, president of Nordevin Inc., will speak at a Super House luncheon, sponsored by the Evergreen Partnership on Monday, Dec. 7, at 12 p.m., at the SeaTac Marriott Hotel, the partnership said today. Nordevin Inc., a general contractor based in Puyallup, was selected to act as construction manager and technical adviser for Super House, a unique three-story, multi-family, wood-frame demonstration project in Yokohama, Japan.
The 32,000-square-foot, three-story apartment building stands as one of the largest and most innovative wood-frame buildings in Japan. The building, designed to showcase western style 2x4 construction technology, was completed in September 1992. The Super House project was developed to act as the catalyst to change Japanese construction regulations for three-story, wood-frame buildings. Such buildings have been constructed of concrete and steel in the past.
Ossinger, who has first-hand experience with Super House from start to finish, will address three major themes: Super House Concept and Construction, Cost of Construction in Japan and Efficiency of U.S. Workers and Systems, What the Future Holds for American Builders in Japan.
Founded in 1985, the Evergreen Partnership was established with the goal to develop and expand domestic and international opportunities to market Washington state forest products.
