EVERGREEN MEDIA CORPORATION SELLS DALLAS RADIO STATION AND COMMENCES OPERATIONS AT ST. LOUIS RADIO STATIONS

IRVING, Texas, July 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Evergreen Media Corporation (NASDAQ: EVGM) today announced the $11 million sale of its Dallas radio station, KSNN-FM, to Armadillo Broadcasting.
Armadillo started operating KSNN-FM in October 1992, under a two and one-half year time brokerage agreement which granted Armadillo the right to purchase the station at any time during the brokerage period. Armadillo exercised the right to purchase the station; subsequently, the parties submitted the transfer application to the FCC today. The sale is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 1993.
"The sale of KSNN-FM will provide Evergreen with some additional liquidity," commented Scott K. Ginsburg, chairman and chief executive officer of Evergreen Media Corporation. "We are pleased with this unanticipated, but positive impact on our balance sheet."
The company also announced the termination of its time brokerage/sales agreement with WPNT, Inc., applicable to radio stations KASP-AM/WKBQ-FM in St. Louis. These properties were acquired by Evergreen Media Corporation in November 1992, and almost immediately time brokered to WPNT, Inc. The stations are now operating under Evergreen Media Corporation's management.
Evergreen Media Corporation owns and operates: KKBT-FM (Los Angeles); WLUP-AM/FM (Chicago); KMEL-FM (San Francisco); WTOP-AM and WASH-FM (Washington, D.C.); WVCG-AM (Coral Gables/Miami); WAPE-FM and WFYV-FM (Jacksonville); and, KTRH-AM and KLOL-FM (Houston). The company recently announced its agreement to acquire WWBZ-FM in Chicago from Major Broadcasting, Inc.
