EVEREX INTRODUCES 25MHZ 386SX NOTEBOOK WITH REMOVABLE HARD DRIVE
NEW YORK, June 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Everex Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: EVRX) today introduced the AGI TravelPro, a 5.8-pound, 386SX-based notebook computer with a removable hard drive. The computer, another addition to the aggressively priced AGI product line, is aimed at the growing reseller and systems integration markets.
Lenny Sharp, director of portable systems, said: "With its removable hard drive, the TravelPro offers a customized solution to organizations who don't need a notebook computer for every field user. When users are finished using the computer, they remove their customized hard drive and check the computer back in for the next user. The removable hard drive also is a valuable security feature for users who need to protect sensitive data."
Besides the 25MHz 386SX processor, an AGI TravelPro has a full 81-key keyboard and a VGA back-lit display. The 12.8-ounce battery can be recharged in only 50 minutes. Uninterrupted battery exchange allows users to "hot swap" batteries without stopping or suspending an application. There is also an upgrade path for the coprocessor, modem and user-installable memory. Options include up to 9MB of user- installable RAM.
The AGI TravelPro comes with 2MB RAM and an 80MB hard drive. In standard configuration, it is priced at $2,499. The computer will start shipping this month.
