 EVA AIRWAYS ORDERS ADDITIONAL BOEING 747-400s
 SEATTLE, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- EVA Airways, a new carrier based


in Taiwan, has ordered two additional two 747-400s, Boeing Commercial Airplane Group confirmed today. The order is valued at approximately $345 million including spares and training.
 With today's announcement, EVA Airways has placed orders for a total of eight 747-400s and holds two additional options. The carrier has chosen General Electric CF6-80C2-B1F engines for the 747-400s.
 The airline is scheduled to receive its first two 747-400s in November 1992 for service on trans-Pacific routes. In December, the carrier will begin 747-400 service to Los Angeles.
 The carrier began operations in July 1991 with a fleet of Boeing 767-300ERs, which it currently flies to Bangkok, Ho Chi Minh City, Penang, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Maldives, Manila, Singapore and Vienna.
 With today's announcement, firm orders for the 747-400 have reached 454 from 33 customers. In 1992, Boeing Commercial Airplane Group has received orders for 123 aircraft valued at $10.2 billion.
