AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2012 M2 COMMUNICATIONS

EUROCONTROL on Monday announced that worldwide implementation of ICAO Flight Plan Changes are scheduled to take place in mid-November 2012.

ICAO Flight Plan Changes are expected to have a significant impact of flight plan processing.

Changes will be made to the information contained in the ICAO Flight Plan and these will have an impact on anyone who creates or received flight plan messages, including air navigation service providers, aircraft operators, air traffic services reporting officer and flight plan service providers.

The main changes concern field 10 in the standard Flight Plan, the way in which his information is amplified in field 18, and the ability to file up to five days in advance of the Estimated Off-Block Time using Date of Flight.
