EU to Continue Funding Programs of Assistance to IDPs in Georgia.

Tbilisi. The Board of Trustees of the Ministry of IDPs from Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refuges discussed the

EU-funded program of assistance to IDPs in Georgia, the press-service of the department reported on Tuesday, March 26.

Representatives of EU, international organizations and governmental departments of Georgia were present at the sitting of the Board of


"IDPs Program III, including projects of construction of houses and infrastructure for IDPs, will be completed in July 2013.

The IDPs Program IV, oriented at improvement of IDPs' income sources and economical conditions, will be implemented.

22 residential buildings were built in Batumi (Adjarian AR), 32 - in Poti (Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region), 10 residential

buildings were built in Tskhaltubo (Imereti region) in the framework of IDPs Program III. At the present time seven buildings are being

built in Poti, they will be finished in July.

"We discussed EU-funded current program III and program IV. Construction of 7 residential buildings for IDPs in Poti was the

main theme of the working meeting. We also talked about finished constructions, where certain defects had been revealed, they are to be

eradicated. The working meeting was held rather tensely, there was a dispute and mutual demands were put forward. I think there will be

no difficulties in settlement of IDPs' problems", Minister of IDPs from Occupied Territories, Accommodation and Refuges David
