EU rejects any solution in Libya involving Gaddafi.

The European Union (EU) Monday reiterated its

call on the leader of the Libyan regime Muammar Gaddafi to quit and stressed

that any political solution involving him is not acceptable.

EU spokesperson for foreign policy, Michael Mann, told a news conference

that he is not aware of any specific negotiations reportedly going on between

the opposition and the regime in Libya.

Mann said the EU wants an end to the conflict in Libya followed by a

transition period to choose a new government and constitution.

"Any solution involving Gaddafi is not acceptable," he stressed.
