ESSEX CORPORATION RECEIVES $315,000 IN FUNDS FOR OPTOELECTRONIC CONTRACTS

 COLUMBIA, Md., Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Essex Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: ESEX) is reporting $315,000 in new funding from the Department of Defense (DoD) to continue work on optoelectronic contracts. The awards include increases in scope of contracts for signal processing equipment and for research and development in optoelectronic technology. Funds were also added to the previously announced U.S. Air Force contract to investigate and validate the Essex true time delay beam steering apparatus, patented in March, for broadband radar and communications antenna applications. Essex has recently demonstrated performance of the true time delay apparatus in its laboratory.
