ESCO ELECTRONICS CORPORATION ACQUIRES SCHUMACHER FILTERS, LTD.
ST. LOUIS, Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- ESCO Electronics Corporation (NYSE: ESE) announced today it has purchased Schumacher Filters, Ltd. from Kraftanlagen, AG of Germany for $7.5 million. Schumacher is located in Sheffield, England and has estimated 1993 sales of $6 million. Schumacher manufactures a variety of pleated, precision wound and activated carbon filter cartridges for applications in the petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food and beverage, and electronics industries. In making the announcement Dennis J. Moore, ESCO Chairman and CEO, commented, "Schumacher's established presence in European markets will strengthen our overall filter products business in Europe, particularly in the United Kingdom." Through its PTI and VACCO subsidiaries, ESCO manufactures filtration products and systems for a wide range of applications. Schumacher will be renamed "PTI Technologies Ltd."
