ESC ENVIROTECH SYSTEMS CORP. MAKES ANNOUNCEMENT

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, July 28 /PRNewswire/ -- ESC Envirotech Systems Corp. announced that during operational trials on July 23, as a result of the failure of a supplier's component peripheral to the drying system, the Radiant Plate Dryer experienced an emergency shutdown. The machine was inspected by the company's engineering staff on July 27, and it has been determined that the emergency shutdown resulted in a pressure surge causing the failure of a number of high temperature seals.
Though the incident is regrettable, the company remains very pleased with the RPD prototype's operating performance. Component failures corrected and improved at the prototype phase will result in a better commercial product.
The company expects a temporary repair will enable processing trials and customer demonstrations to continue while the affected seals are re- engineered. Repairs will be made and the seals replaced to eliminate the possibility of a similar failure in the future. Stack emission tests will be delayed until the new seals can be installed.
The incident is being investigated by the company's insurers, TOS Insurance, and a claim to cover the cost of damages will be made.
ESC Envirotech Systems Corp., through its wholly owned operating and engineering subsidiaries has developed a revolutionary and environmentally friendly drying system called the Radiant Plate Dryer "RPD." The mobile, patent pending, machine is designed to process and dry, large volumes of various industrial and municipal waste sludges, delivering recycled, sterile and "inert" revenue-generating end products.
