ERC signs agreement to fund road project in Yemen.
The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has signed an agreement to fund the construction of a 6-kilometre road project in Yemen's Yafi Rasd.
Al Amri-Tanhara-Al Askariya road project will serve more than 10,000 families by facilitating easier travel to the region's border areas. The new road will connect the governorates of Lahij and Abyan and the lower districts of Yafi Rasd.
On signing the agreement, Juma Abdullah Al Mazrouei, head of the ERC Team in Aden, said that the ERC aims to complete services projects in various Yemeni governorates during the Year of Zayed in 2018 and as part of the UAE's role in rebuilding the country's infrastructure.
In December 2017, the ERC signed an agreement to build and equip Shuhair recreational park in the Ghail Bawazir district of Hadramaut, Yemen.
The works included the provision of electricity and water, as well as the construction of a mosque, renovation of the car parking area, and a children's playing area.
