 EQUUS INVESTMENTS INCORPORATED BEGINS TRADING
 ON THE AMERICAN STOCK EXCHANGE
 NEW YORK, Sept. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Equus Investments Incorporated, a Delaware corporation, today began trading on the American Stock Exchange with the common stock opening at 11-1/4 on 200 shares. The company, whose stock is now trading under the ticker symbol "EQI", was reorganized into a public corporation from the Equus Investments I Limited Partnership in July 1991. The organization has chosen Cranmer, Cohn, Reis & Gage as its specialist unit.
 Equus Investments Incorporated seeks to achieve capital appreciation by making equity-oriented investments in leveraged buyouts or leveraged recapitalizations of established, medium-sized companies or divisions thereof, located in the United States, and subsequently disposing of such investments, The fund is managed by Houston-based Equus Capital Management Corporation.
 "We are very pleased to have the fund's shares approved for listing with the American Stock Exchange," said Sam P. Douglass, chairman and chief executive officer of Equus Investments Incorporated. "We believe our shareholders will benefit from the greater visibility and increased liquidity their shares will have in the financial markets," he concluded.
 At June 30, 1992, Equus Investments Incorporated had net assets of $25,799,779, including investments of $19,796,117 in securities of ten companies in diverse industries. The net asset value per share of common stock was $13.75 at June 30, 1992. The funds has distributed $38.4 million in cash (equivalent to $17.60 per share of common stock) to its investors since formation.
