EQUITIES MAGAZINE FEATURES ARTICLE ON ROBERT GINTEL

NEW YORK, Jan. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- In the current January issue of EQUITIES magazine, editor Bob Flaherty suggests it would be appropriate if the next new editor of Barron's was as bald as the last two since so many Barron's readers have been scalped by shortsellers.
EQUITIES' lead story, "Gintel to the Rescue!," is a case history of the dramatic clash between secret shortsellers and bullish mutual fund manager Robert Gintel. A separate two-page column in the same issue by Gintel, "Faster Than a Speeding Bullet," takes the opposite position on the stock of Amtech Corporation from Barron's recent blast of Dec. 7, "Back-up at the High-Tech Tollbooth!" It is hard to believe both stories are about the same company, a secret target of the "Stockbuster" Fesbach Brothers.
The January issue also looks into the crystal ball on environmental services, annuities and HMOs. The American Stock Exchange's James Jones also looks forward, and back at 1992, in our year end review of the Amex which includes the top 100 companies traded there and some undiscovered ones.
EQUITIES is an award-winning, 42-year-old monthly magazine that covers promising public companies and their environment. A one year subscription is $42.
