 EQUITABLE CAPITAL PICKS SEVEN EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENTS
 NEW YORK, June 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Equitable Capital Management Corp.


today announced the election of seven executive vice presidents.
 The new executive vice presidents are Kathleen A. Corbet, Nelson Jantzen, Joseph Briggs, Robert R. Coby, Barbara J. Krumsiek, Patrick J. Mellett and James P. Pappas. Each previously was a senior vice president. The seven join Alden M. Stewart and James R. Wilson as executive vice presidents.
 Corbet heads the fixed income management department and Jantzen, the high yield bond management department, positions that each retains. Corbet and Jantzen report to John D. Miller, president and chief executive officer.
 Krumsiek and Briggs, Coby, Mellett and Pappas report to David K. Downes, the firm's vice chairman, chief financial officer and chief administrative officer. Krumsiek is in charge of marketing for Equitable-affiliated products. Briggs runs marketing efforts to institutional clients and pension plans. Coby is the firm's treasurer and controller. Mellett heads the information systems area. Pappas directs the firm's product development and management group.
 The promotions were announced by Frank Savage, chairman, and Miller, president and chief executive.
 Equitable Capital, based in New York, manages $35.5 billion (as of April 30, 1992) across a wide range of asset classes, including stocks, bonds and private placements, for a broad client base of mutual funds, pension and profit-sharing plans, insurance companies, foreign corporations, foundations and endowments. Equitable Capital is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States.
