EPILOGUE TECHNOLOGY SIGNS SFA DATACOMM AS 75TH SNMP OEM

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M., May 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Epilogue Technology Corporation today announced that the company has signed an agreement with SFA DataComm, Inc. (SFAD) under which SFAD has licensed Envoy, Epilogue's SNMP source code; Emissary, Epilogue's SNMP MIB compiler, and Attache and Attache Plus, Epilogue's TCP/IP/UDP protocol suite. With this agreement, SFAD becomes the 75th OEM customer to license Epilogue's SNMP solution. This agreement also demonstrates that SNMP is gaining acceptance among wide area networking vendors.
SFA DataComm develops and markets X.25 network protocol concentrators and packet assemblers/disassemblers (PADs) and provides X.25 wide area networking services to customers throughout Europe, the Pacific Rim, the Middle East, Africa, South America, and North America, including government, industry, and military customers. SFAD's line of TURBO packet switching devices were developed specifically for the international X.25 market and can support multiple communication protocols so they can be used as X.25 switch/PAD/concentrators with protocol-conversion capabilities. All of these hardware products are supported by three SFAD-developed software packages: the PAC.NET network management system, Verification Host (VH) software, and the TURBO-SM software package for session management.
Epilogue licenses Envoy, its compact, portable SNMP agent, to OEM customers so they can incorporate SNMP into their own hardware and software. Envoy is provided as compilable ANSI C source code and is not specific to any operating system or platform. Envoy is fully compliant with the SNMP RFC standards defined by the Internet Engineering Task Force, including SNMP version 2.
Envoy licensing is available for $25,000 and Emissary licensing is $5,000. A bundled configuration which includes Envoy, Emissary, and Attach is available for $45,500.
