EPA TO HOLD PUBLIC MEETING ON SEPT. 7 IN RALEIGH, N.C., REGARDING THE NORTH CAROLINA STATE UNIVERSITY (LOT 86) SUPERFUND SITE

 ATLANTA, Sept. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 7, in Raleigh, N.C., regarding the North Carolina State University (Lot 86) Superfund site.
 The meeting will be held in the Field House of the Carter-Finley Stadium, Gate D (off Trinity Road), in Raleigh, from 7-9 p.m. Officials from EPA will inform citizens about the Superfund process, discuss what is currently known about the site and explain activities planned for the future. All interested individuals are invited to attend.
 The North Carolina State University (Lot 86) site, which occupies approximately 1.5 acres, is located north of the Carter-Finley Stadium, approximately 100 feet south of the southern right-of-way of the Wade Avenue Extension in Raleigh. The site was used by the science and agricultural laboratories of the university as a waste disposal area for solvents, pesticides, heavy metals, acids and some low-level radioactive wastes from 1969 to 1980.
 The site was placed on EPA's National Priorities List of hazardous waste sites in June 1986.
