EPA INCREASES CEILING ON RIEDEL ENVIRONMENTAL CONTRACT

EPA INCREASES CEILING ON RIEDEL ENVIRONMENTAL CONTRACT
PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has increased the maximum contract amount for services provided by Riedel Environmental Services Inc. under the agency's Zone 4A Emergency Response Clean-up Services contract by $15 million during the current contract year which expires Feb. 28, 1992, the company announced today.
Riedel Environmental Services is subsidiary of Riedel Environmental Technologies Inc. (RET) (AMEX: RIE), one of the nation's largest environmental contractors specializing in cleanup of contaminated underground aquifers and hazardous waste sites. RET president/chief operating officer, J.H. Dastur, said the contract ceiling has been increased to approximately $35 million from $20 million for this first year of the four-year contract.
"The increase was necessary to insure adequate funding for cleanup of several already identified hazardous waste sites," Dastur reported.
Dastur said the contract modification was "very welcome and reflects the excellent work we perform for the EPA. As announced by EPA Administrator William Reilly on Oct. 3, 1991, this clearly demonstrates the EPA's intention to speed the rate of cleanup of our nation's hazardous waste sites under the EPA's new plan."
