ENVIRONMENTAL TECTONICS AWARDED $1.5 MILLION CONTRACT FOR STERILIZATION SYSTEMS

ENVIRONMENTAL TECTONICS AWARDED $1.5 MILLION CONTRACT FOR
 STERILIZATION SYSTEMS
SOUTHAMPTON, Pa., April 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Environmental Tectonics Corporation (AMEX: ETC) announced today receipt of a contract for two sterilization systems totalling approximately $1.5 million.
The systems will be designed and manufactured for a leading medical device manufacturer. The contract stipulates delivery within the next seven months; the systems will be installed at two of the company's existing facilities. Both units are to be fully automated with computer systems to control the sterilization cycles and material handling.
The design of these units incorporates the use of 100 percent ethylene oxide (EtO) which eliminates the use of chloroflorocarbons (CFCs) and thereby prevents potential damage to atmospheric ozone. The utilization of EtO also permits sterilization of medical products in the final stage of packaging.
"This new business is based upon technology and designs developed by ETC over a number of years," stated William F. Mitchell, president and chief executive officer. "These systems are best utilized by medical device companies, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and contract sterilization firms who are seeking turnkey design based on high volume and an environmentally sound process."
ETC designs, manufactures and installs sterilization equipment, hyperbaric systems, aeromedical training systems, environmental testing and simulation systems, and related products for domestic and international customers. ETC is listed on the AMEX and trades under the stock symbol "ETC."
