ENVIRONMENTAL DIAGNOSTICS, INC. HOLDS ANNUAL MEETING,
RECEIVES APPROVAL FOR NAME CHANGE TO EDITEK, INC.
BURLINGTON, N.C., Nov. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Environmental Diagnostics, Inc. (AMEX: EDI.EC) reported today that it held its Annual Shareholder's Meeting on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 1992. The shareholders approved the amendment to the Certification of Incorporation to change the Company's name from Environmental Diagnostics, Inc. to EDITEK, Inc. The Company will retain its Common Stock symbol, EDI.EC. The change is being made because EDITEK is more descriptive of the Company's broad technology capabilities and the markets in which it participates. It is expected that the name EDITEK will give the Company increased exposure to potential investors and stock analysts who might otherwise be unaware of the Company's patents, technology and business opportunities beyond the environmental diagnostic market.
In addition, the shareholders also approved changes to the Stock Option Plan for non-employee directors. The current Board of Directors, Dr. Samuel C. Powell, Walter O. Fredericks, Gene E. Lewis and James D. Skinner, were re-elected. At a Board of Directors meeting following the Shareholder's Meeting, Dr. Powell was re-elected Chairman of the Board.
Environmental Diagnostics, Inc. is an emerging, biodiagnostic company with patented technology for the performance of rapid, on-site assays including one-step assays. The Company currently has products on market or research and development and supply agreements that address the human/clinical, drugs of abuse, U.S. Department of Defense tests for biological substances, veterinary and agrodiagnostics and food safety testing markets.
