ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT, INC. AWARD PROGRAM WILL HONOR INNOVATORS

CLEVELAND, Sept. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Bubble packaging, artificial vertebrae, satellite rockets, and health care for nuns and priests are only a few of the innovations developed by the "unsung heroes" of Northeast Ohio's business community who will gain recognition as inaugural honorees of a new award program sponsored by Enterprise Development, Inc. (EDI). Innovative individuals from government and non- profit organizations will also be recognized.
"We wanted to reward those individuals and groups who have made outstanding contributions to their place of business through their creativity," EDI Vice President D. Kirk Neiswander said of the EDI Innovation Award program. "These innovators are the true value creators within their organizations, and we hope that these awards will encourage more original thinking by others."
An independent panel of judges reviewed more than 85 nominations from Northeast Ohio business leaders and selected as winners 43 individuals from 22 businesses and organizations. Each award winner's achievement has measurably improved the value of the business or organization for which the work was done.
The awards program, which EDI plans to sponsor on an annual basis, will take place Thursday, Sept. 23, in the Marriott Ball Room at the Society Center on Public Square, Cleveland. More than 300 guests have been invited to the black-tie affair.
EDI is a cooperative venture with the Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management. Sponsors of the event include Society National Bank; Deloitte & Touche; and Thompson, Hine & Flory.
