 ENSCO ANNOUNCES NEW DIRECTORS
 DALLAS, April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Energy Service Company, Inc.


("ENSCO") (AMEX: ESV) today named Orville D. Gaither and Dr. Craig I. Fields to its board of directors to fill two newly created positions.
 Gaither is president and chief executive officer of Gaither Petroleum Corporation and in addition serves as chairman and chief executive officer of Chemject International. Prior to May 1991, Gaither was employed for 42 years by Amoco Production Company. From 1979 to 1991 he was president of the Africa and Middle East Region, responsible for Amoco's petroleum operations in 17 countries. Gaither holds a B.S. degree form Rice University and an M.S. degree from the University of Houston. Gaither was named a Class III director and will stand for election for a new three-year term at the upcoming annual meeting of stockholders to be held on May 28, 1992.
 Since 1990, Fields has served as president and chief executive officer of Microelectronics and Computer Technology Corp., an Austin, Texas, based computer consortium. Prior to 1990, Fields had a 16 year career with the office of the Secretary of Defense and most recently served as a director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. Fields holds a B.S. degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. degree from the Rockefeller University. Fields was named a Class II director of ENSCO, the term of which expires at the 1993 annual meeting of stockholders.
 ENSCO, headquartered in Dallas, is engaged in providing contract drilling and related energy services to the international petroleum industry.
