EmTec Innovative Software and BMT Micro, Inc. have launched the
ZOC 3.11 terminal/modem application. ZOC is available for Windows NT,
95, 98, and the IBM OS/2 platform. With ZOC you can transfer data via
modem, telnet connections, named pipes, Unix rlogin, TAPI modems and
secure shell (SSH) connections. Designed with the corporate user in
mind, ZOC is capable of emulating a wide variety of protocols, including
TTY, VT52, VT100, VT102, VT220, AVATAR, ANSI, IBM-3270 (also supports
QNX via a third party add-on), ISDN for CAPI V1.1 (OS/2 only) and CAPI
V2.0 boards, including X.25 and X.31 support. All popular file transfer
protocols including ASCII, Xmodem, Ymodem, Zmodem, CompuServe-B and
Kermit are supported as well. The most powerful new feature available is
the support for Secure Shell (SSH) logins. SSH allows the user to
connect to an internet/intranet host using encryption for all data sent
and received making it practically impossible for third parties to
tamper with or monitor the connection. (Please note that each country
has different rules regarding encryption technology. EmTec Innovative
Software does not export encryption technology where illegal.) ZOC uses
REXX as a scripting language, allowing easy automation of functions that
otherwise would have to be performed manually. ZOC also uses the Dynamic
Data Exchange method (DDE), allowing other programs to execute ZOC
commands remotely. ZOC is available at the EmTec web site
(http://www.emtec.com). A fully functional demo is available for trial
purposes. For more information, call 910/792-9100.
