EMOTIONAL HIGH NOTE FOR GOLDEN GIRL LINDA; Daughter inspires mum to storm Ireland's Got Talent.

Byline: SYLVIA POWNALL

LINDA McLoughlin admits she almost choked with emotion when she saw her daughter watching her backstage on Ireland's Got Talent.

The mum of two, 38, was fast-tracked through to the live semi-finals on last night's show after judge Louis Walsh chose her as his golden buzzer act.

Customer service agent Linda brought Louis and fellow judges Michelle Visage, Denise Van Outen and Jason Byrne to their feet when she sang Beyonce's Listen.

She told the Irish Sunday Mirror : "When I was on stage Lucy did not take her eyes off me for a single second. That brought a tear to my eye.

"It was all a bit surreal, it hasn't fully sunk in yet. I had no idea what had happened but now that I've got my head around it of course it is amazing."

Linda, who hails from Cabra in north Dublin but lives in Ratoath in Co Meath, added she was especially delighted Louis was the judge who endorsed her.

She said: "Everybody loves Louis. He's just a funny, funny guy. He's been on so many of those talent shows so to get him to press the buzzer was like, 'Oh my God'. I couldn't believe he had his arm around me on stage and he was saying how good I was.

"I was so nervous standing up there but I'm over the moon I did it."

Presenter Lucy Kennedy, who told Linda to "do it for the Irish mammies", was reduced to tears by the performance, as was Denise Van Outen.

Denise said: "I think you're phenomenal. I don't understand why you said you had no self-confidence because you are amazing."

Jason added: "I was watching you singing that for your family. You just kept checking in the wings, that is just beautiful."

Linda's partner Joe, daughter Lucy, eight, and her five-year-old son Max all joined her on stage after she won the golden buzzer vote.

She now joins great granny Evelyn Williams in the next stage and says she has "no idea" how to follow last night's performance.

She added: "I haven't got a clue what's next. I'm just taking it all in. I'd love to have done this years ago but maybe now is the right time for me."
