EMONS HOLDINGS, INC. CHANGES ITS NAME TO EMONS TRANSPORTATION GROUP, INC.
YORK, Pa., Nov. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Emons Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: EMHO) today announced that its name has been changed to Emons Transportation Group, Inc. The name change had been approved by shareholders on Nov. 18, 1993, at the company's annual meeting. The new NASDAQ symbol is "EMON," which will be effective Dec. 1, 1993. Robert Grossman, chairman and president, said, "The name of the company was changed to more clearly reflect the business we are in, and this change would enable us to use the new name more prominently in our sales and marketing activities and literature." He further stated, "Transportation was included in the name rather than Rail since the company is more than a railroad; it is a transportation and distribution services company. Besides the three railroads we own, we operate five rail/truck transfer facilities and will soon be operating an intermodal terminal in New England. We are moving toward meeting more of our customers' logistics services needs," he added. Emons Transportation Group, Inc., a freight transportation and distribution services company headquartered in York, owns short-line railroads and rail/truck transload facilities and provides its customers with logistics services for movement and storage of their freight. Emons Transportation Group's shares of common stock and convertible preferred stock are traded in the Over-The-Counter securities market and the common shares will trade on NASDAQ under the symbol "EMON." /delval/ -0- 11/30/93 /CONTACT: Robert Grossman, chairman and president of Emons Transportation Group, 717-771-1701/ (EMHO EMON)
