EMMERICH JOINS METROPOLITAN FINANCIAL BOARD

 MINNEAPOLIS, June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Metropolitan Financial Corporation (NYSE: MFC) today announced the addition of Karol D. Emmerich to its board of directors, bringing the total number of directors to eight.
 A graduate of Stanford Graduate School of Business with an MBA in finance and Northwestern University with a bachelor's degree in math, Emmerich is currently president of The Paraclete Group, providing consulting to businesses and non-profit organizations.
 Before starting The Paraclete Group, Emmerich was employed by Dayton Hudson Corporation for over 20 years, most recently as its vice president, treasurer and chief accounting officer.
 Emmerich also serves on the boards of Piper Funds Inc. and Solutronix Corporation and is active in numerous community and civic organizations.
