ELLEN MULLINS NAMED DIRECTOR OF MARKETING FOR NEW YORK 1 NEWS
AND TIME WARNER CITYCABLE ADVERTISING COMPANIES
NEW YORK, April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Ellen Mullins today was named director of marketing for New York 1 News and Time Warner CityCable Advertising by Larry J. Fischer, president of Time Warner CityCable Advertising.
In announcing Mullins' appointment, Fischer said, "The dual task of selling advertising for a 24-hour all-news channel covering New York City while supporting the various needs of our growing CityCable advertising staff required a marketing specialist with strong publicity and sales promotion skills. Ellen's years of experience in marketing New York newspapers, creating promotions and cross-media opportunities with advertisers make her uniquely positioned to take the ball and run with it."
Mullins was executive director of marketing and promotion for the New York Post and an international sales director for the Institutional Investor Magazine. In the mid-70's she joined the New York Times where, for over a decade, she held a variety of advertising sales and marketing services assignments.
For the past two years, Mullins was a marketing consultant for sports marketing, financial services and charitable organizations. Last year she produced, "The First Annual Yankees Fan Festival," for the New York Yankees at Madison Square Garden.
"New York 1 News will be unlike anything New Yorkers have ever had before," Mullins said. "By tuning to Channel 1, they will find a continuous source of news, local weather, and service information with features geared to life in this truly marvelous city. It may sound trite but I really do love New York City and the prospect of introducing it to advertisers is wonderful!"
When it is launched in September, New York 1 News will be available to 800,000 cable subscribers in New York City managed by Manhattan Cable Television (MCTV), Paragon Cable Manhattan (PCM), American Cablevision of Queens (ACQ), Brooklyn Queens Cable Television (BQ Cable) and Queens Inner Unity Cable System (QUICS).
