ELECTRONICS, MISSILES & COMMUNICATIONS ELECTS NEW PRESIDENT/CEO
WHITE HAVEN, Pa., June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- At a regular meeting of the board of directors held June 8, 1992, James L. DeStefano was elected president/chief executive officer of Electronics, Missiles & Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: ECIN) (EMCEE), replacing S. Stanley Fischman.
DeStefano has more than 20 years of extensive experience in the broadcast equipment industry.
For the past seven years, DeStefano has been employed by Comark Communications, a manufacturer of high-power television broadcast equipment. DeStefano held various managerial positions during his tenure with Comark, including vice president of operations and, most recently, vice president of international marketing. Prior to that, DeStefano was employed by EMCEE for a total of 13 years in a number of capacities, including executive vice president and director of operations.
One of DeStefano's first priorities will be to strengthen the company's position in the broadcast equipment industry. A stronger emphasis will be placed on sales and marketing, with expanded effort in the international marketplace.
EMCEE's new president, a northeast Pennsylvania native, has two sons and currently resides in Scranton, Pa., with his wife, Marianne.
