ELDEC NAMES NEW CEO WITH RETIREMENT OF MAX GELLERT

 LYNNWOOD, Wash., March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors for ELDEC Corp. (NASDAQ: ELDC) has elected ELDEC President Thomas K. Brown to the position of chief executive officer effective April 1, following the retirement of long-time Chief Executive Officer Max E. Gellert, the company announced today.
 Brown, 62, joined ELDEC in 1969 serving in various capacities related to financial management, facilities and information systems, including chief financial officer. In 1989, he was named president and chief operating officer. Prior to ELDEC, Brown worked at The Boeing Co. for 12 years. Brown has a BA in Mathematics from Whitman College and an MBA from Harvard University.
 Gellert joined ELDEC in 1957, the year it was founded as the Electro Development Corp. Since that time, the company has grown to over $100 million in annual sales. Gellert has served as chief executive officer since 1971. Gellert, whose family is the majority stockholder in ELDEC Corp., will remain as chairman of the board.
 Gellert will continue his involvement in numerous community and business activities, including serving as chairman of the board of the Washington Technology Center, Trustee of the Seattle Opera Association, director of the Commerce Bank, Visiting Committee member for the University of Washington College of Engineering, and director of the Association of Washington Business.
 ELDEC custom designs and manufactures electronic and electromechanical systems for aerospace and defense applications. Founded in 1957, the company is a subcontractor to a large number of major aerospace and defense electronics contractors.
