EISENSTAT LEAVES APPLE; RESIGNS FROM BOARD OF DIRECTORS

CUPERTINO, Calif., Sept. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Apple Computer, Inc. (NASDAQ-NMS: AAPL) today announced that Albert A. Eisenstat, executive vice president and secretary, is leaving the company and has resigned his position as a member of the board of directors, effective Sept. 23, 1993.
Eisenstat has filed a lawsuit against Apple and its chief executive officer, Michael Spindler, in a dispute over compensation related to his departure from the company. The company believes that the allegations in the complaint are factually and legally without merit and intends to defend against Eisenstat's claims vigorously.
Eisenstat, 63, joined Apple in 1980 as general counsel and corporate secretary. He served as the company's general counsel until 1987, when he assumed the position of executive vice president. He was appointed to the board of directors in 1985.
