EGYPT - The Non-Associated Gas Fields - Nile Delta & Med.

The main fields producing non-associated gas are located in the Nile Delta and the Western Desert. By 2003, most gas production will come from deep offshore Mediterranean fields north of the delta, the Western Desert and Sinai. The proven remaining gas reserves of the delta are 1.8 TCF, 4.5% of Egypt's total. But those of the Mediterranean fields are 27.3 TCF, 68.3% of the total.

The main operators in the Nile Delta and the East Mediterranean gas fields are Petrobel (EGPC/Agip), an Agip-BP Amoco JV, Bapetco (EGPC/Shell), the Western Desert Petroleum Co. (WEPCO - EGPC/Repsol), and BG.
