EFSA approves vitamin K2-MK7 as novel food.

Norway-based CLS Technology AS and Vesta Ingredients, Inc., Indianapolis, IN, have obtained novel food approval in the EU from the European Food Safety Authority for Vesta's Vitamin K2-MK7. CLS Technology has been given the exclusive right to distribute the product in Europe.

Morten Sundstoe, founder and CEO of CLS Technology, commented, "As one of the founders of NattoPharma, I introduced K2 in the market in 2009. The market for vitamin K2 is still a niche market, because both the quality and price has not been good enough. After years of product development, Vesta has been able to make, what I would say, is the best quality natural K2 at a competitive price. We are very pleased to be VESTA's representative in Europe, and we see a great potential for our K2 products in Europe now that it is recognized as novel food."
