EDWARD LOSTY NAMED DIRECTOR WITH CRESTAR INVESTMENT BANK

 RICHMOND, Va., March 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Crestar announced that Edward J. Losty has joined its Investment Bank as director and manager of financial institutions mergers and acquisitions.
 In his new capacity, he advises financial institutions in developing and realizing strategic objectives related to merger and acquisitions, divestitures and capital formation.
 Losty previously worked for Wheat First Butcher & Singer Capital Markets and most recently Ryan Beck & Co., both in Philadelphia. He has extensive financial institutions experience with more than 50 completed transactions including bank and thrift mergers and acquisitions, conversion mergers, branch purchases and sales, thrift mutual to stock conversions, mutual holding company formations, community and public offerings of equity and debt and other financial advisory services.
 Losty has a bachelor of science degree in accounting and finance from Villanova University.
