EDITORIAL SEND CODY PACKING BOTH THE EIDC AND ITS PRESIDENT DESERVE THE AX.
That sent city and county leaders, who sit on the board, scrambling to put together some sort of compromise (read: buyout) that would free the quasi-public agency of Cluff's embarrassing leadership.
But then Cluff announced a surprise vacation, giving himself and the politicians the Thanksgiving week to find a way out of their selnflicted mess.
Allow us to propose a solution: Pull the plug on the EIDC once and for all.
It was bad enough when the organization was funneling public funds into its board members' political campaigns and subsidizing Cluff's lavish lifestyle. But now that it's still paying Cluff's salary and that of the lawyers who are defying the board by defending him, it's spun entirely out of control.
It's time to put this ugly saga to an end and send Cluff on another vacation - a permanent one.
