EDISTO RESOURCES ANNOUNCES COMPLETION OF NATURAL GAS PIPELINE
DALLAS, March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Edisto Resources Corporation's (AMEX: EDS) downstream subsidiary, ESCO Energy, Inc. (ESCO) announced today that the first portion of its planned 57-mile pipeline segment, a 16- inch, 30-mile pipeline to Franklin County, Missouri, is operational. This pipeline, operated by ESCO's subsidiary, Missouri Pipeline Company (MPC), delivers gas to Laclede Gas Company ("Laclede") to serve existing gas customers in the western part of St. Louis County. Laclede is expanding its gas distribution system in Franklin County to serve the communities of Washington, Union, St. Clair, and Pacific. With the completion of the first portion of the MPC pipeline to Franklin County, ESCO's 10-year gas supply contract with Laclede increases from 25.0 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) to 55.0 MMcf/d.
ESCO intends to continue to expand its pipeline operations in Missouri. The construction of the second portion of the 57-mile segment, an additional 10-inch, 27-mile pipeline through Franklin County, is expected to be completed in April. An additional 67-mile segment pipeline along I-44 to Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., is scheduled for completion in June 1992. In December 1990, an ESCO subsidiary was awarded a 10-year gas supply contract to service Ft. Leonard Wood, which currently does not have natural gas service.
Edisto Resources Corporation's consolidated activities include the production of oil and gas, the exploration and development of oil and gas reserves and natural gas transportation and marketing.
