EDISON BROTHERS SALES REPORT

 ST. LOUIS, May 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Edison Brothers Stores, Inc. (NYSE: EBS) today reported sales of $109.5 million for the four weeks ended May 1, 1993. This compares with $113.8 million for the four weeks ended May 2, 1992, a decrease of $4.3 million or 3.8 percent.
 For the combined period of March and April 1993, which includes the full Easter season, sales amounted to $233.2 million. This is a decrease of $2.0 million, or 0.9 percent, compared to $235.2 million for the same period last year.
 For the thirteen weeks ended May 1, 1993, sales amounted to $329.1 million. This is an increase of $2.3 million or 0.7 percent, as compared with $326.8 million for the thirteen weeks ended May 2, 1992.
