EDISON BROTHERS SALES REPORT ST. LOUIS, Mo., May 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Edison Brothers Stores, Inc.
(NYSE: EBS) reports sales of $113.9 million for the four weeks ended May 2, 1992. This compares with $94.3 million for the four weeks ended May 4, 1991, an increase of $19.6 million or 20.8 percent.
For the combined period of March and April 1992, which includes the full Easter season, sales amounted to $235.3 million. This is an increase of $17.4 million, or 8.0 percent, compared to $217.9 million for the same period last year. For the thirteen weeks ended May 2, 1992, sales amounted to $326.9 million. This is an increase of $27.1 million or 9.0 percent, as compared with $299.8 million for the thirteen weeks ended May 4, 1991. -0- /CONTACT: Lee G.
