EDDIE THE LEGAL EAGLE.

SKI-JUMPER Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards was celebrating yesterday after getting a law degree.

The 39-year-old ex-plasterer, who shot to fame as a glorious failure in the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, won a 2:2 qualification - the equivalent of a bronze medal - after three years at De Montfort University in Leicester.

Eddie, who lives in Stroud, Gloucs, with new wife Samantha, reckons he may become a lawyer or policeman. He said: "I enjoyed being a student but now I'd like to settle down."
