ECP gives approval of water marked ballot papers.
Islamabad -- The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has given approval of water marked ballot papers and irremovable ink markers use for the next general election 2018.
The main objective of this development was to permanently solve the election rigging and complaints related to fake ballot papers.
Security Printing Corporation of Pakistan was directed to make arrangements of purchasing water marked ballot papers of Rs. 200 million.
ECP meeting was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of CEC Justice Sardar Mohammad Raza. Managing Director Printing Cooperation, officials of Security Printing cooperation of Karachi, Secretary Postal Service Division and other related officials participated in the meeting.
While giving briefing the secretary cabinet division stated that approval of water marked ballot papers and irremovable ink marker for the next general election 2018 was given under Election Reforms Act 2017. After this development the illegal work of ballot papers printing would be eliminated permanently.
During the meeting ECP has directed Pakistan Security Cooperation officials directed to make arrangements of purchasing water marked ballot papers of Rs. 200 million.
